I am super excited to introduce to you two super cool ladies with crazy cool style! Ashley & Ashley! When I was living in Tulsa I frequented their store and wanted to live in it. I have been wanting to add an element of home to The Noshery and the ladies know their stuff. I hope you love these ladies as much as I do and come back to see more vintage style!

Hi! My name is Ashley Daly, co-owner of Retro Den, a vintage home store in Tulsa, Oklahoma. When Meseidy asked my business partner, Ashley Palmer (two Ashleys!) and me to contribute some guest blogs to The Noshery, we were pumped. What Meseidy specializes in, food, and what we specialize in, home goods, are a huge part of daily life. If you do those things deliciously and beautifully, life is just better.
We deal in vintage furniture and home goods, especially in the Mid-Century Modern era, because we love pieces that have lived, loved and lasted the test of time. People surrounded by beauty and meaning are happier and contribute more to the world around them.
Quitting our jobs nine months ago to buy the store shows just how much we believe in the power of surroundings. Our founding and rocksteady rule for the shop is to only sell things we’d put in a version of our homes.
To introduce ourselves to you, we each picked out a few of our favorite things in our houses to share.
Ashley Palmer:
Brass monkey stand from my dad; it holds my salt and pepper, making seasoning that much more enjoyable // Haeger pottery pitcher // blue glass bottle // vintage fan from Boonville, MO; I love it because it’s shiny on the top and rustic on the bottom; great visual contrast // wooden bowl carved by my micro-economics professor for making an A in his class; I worked hard for that bowl! // metal vase my dad picked up in the 1960s while stationed in Korea
Ashley Daly:
Screen print my mom made in the 70s // brass giraffe; anyone who knows me knows how fervently I believe that brass is, indeed, back // mini ceramic horse and swans; horses are my new animal craze // Frankoma pottery tray; I was never organized until I needed a reason to buy lots of Frankoma- great for sorting things! // vintage jewelry; feeling fancy is nice // gold-striped glassware that makes holding a cup feel opulent
Collecting and uploading these pieces felt like putting a little bit of our hearts on the internet. We really believe in having only useful, beautiful things in our homes. It’s a simple way to add goodness to your life. Tell us in the comments section about some of your favorite pieces in your home, or Instagram them and hashtag it #Nosheryhomelove.
Retro love and such,
Ashleys
